We Got The Jazz – Myeloma and Lymphona Fund Raiser

Another successful fundraising event for my son in his efforts to raise money with his annual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fundraiser in uptown Dallas!

Doesn’t she look pretty on this table!   Just the perfect size for display… and that view!  One Stitch Closer

I made the pattern “Prismatic Star” by Judy Niemeyer for this years’ fundraiser.   I had originally planned a much more aggressive piecing pattern but was running out of time.   So, I pulled this pattern together and bam… done!   Lou Ellen Hassold volunteered to help me with next year’s quilt.   We have a theme…. so far they have all been Judy Niemeyer patterns.  Next year will be …..  Feathered Star!   Denise Green of HollyDeeQuilts  and a CI for Quiltworx patterns pulled the fabrics for this year’s quilt from her shop and will also be helping us decide the final fabrics for our Feathered Star for next year.

These funds help support research and patient assistance for all blood cancer patients.  His event is over but you can still donate here: http://www.mwoy.org/pages/ntx/dfw17/dfergusonyxr

The man/woman of the year campaign is a fun event that elects regional people as the leading fund  raiser but all money goes to the fund, not the person.  The person that brings in the most money gets the title!   Here is the link where Dr Anderson opens up the bidding for Prismatic Star.    Larry was the Man of the Year for 2015!

A few photos of the event.   Oh my gosh the view!   The weather was perfect.  No humidity, breezy up there.  Not hot at all.   Bob and I spent a lot of time on the terrace because it was so nice out.   Not my typical view at all.

our 2 oldest granddaughters

That’s daughter in law on the left and her mother in the turquoise in the background..

The BBQ and sides were soooo good!

The wait staff was so friendly and on top of everything.   What a cute bar!

That’s my Bob and Jenny

These 2 pictures were on the other side of the building

Silent Auction items.

Bob and I tried for a selfie.   Photo Bomb!

Free fireworks show also!  Wow was that spectacular.

And of course Granddaughter dog,  Lady Iris.   What a wonderful puppy she is!   She’s an American Labrador.   Longer and leaner than the English variation that most of us know.  Like my black kitty, she is hard to photograph, even harder to capture her being still!

Again… my little part… One Stitch Closer to curing Myeloma.   Won’t you consider donating?
